EP 47: Ohio Nursing Rally & Ascension Healthcare Cyber Attack

Nurse Jessica and Nurse Erica spent their Nurses Week in Ohio attending the Rally for Ratios and Mental Health, organized by the family of Tristin Kate Smith ('Letter to my Abuser'). They express admiration for Tristin Kate Smith's family for their commitment to improving nursing conditions. They also mention media coverage and unpredictable weather at the rally. Jessica shares personal anecdotes about signs from loved ones in her life and at the rally. Nurses Erica and Jessica discuss their experience, their speeches and the impromptu march that followed. The attack has allegedly caused system failures, paper charting, and communication issues, allegedly putting patient safety at risk. Ascension's response to the attack has been criticized, and the nurses express their frustration with the lack of support and preparation. The conversation ends with a discussion about the Enema of the Week award.
